WHY SOFTSOUNDSPRESS WAS CREATED

Inspired by Our Family. Created for Yours.

SoftSoundsPress grew from our family's personal experiences navigating autism, sensory differences, communication, learning, and everyday life.

As parents, we began learning that experiences that may seem simple to others—sounds, transitions, communication, reading, routines, or entering a new environment—can sometimes feel very different for an autistic child.

Those experiences inspired us to create books and resources that help children see themselves represented while giving families practical tools for understanding and support.

What began with our own family's journey became a desire to create something that could encourage other children, parents, caregivers, and educators too.

LEARNING THROUGH EXPERIENCE

Learning to Advocate. Learning to Understand.

Our journey has also been a journey of learning. Learning how to ask questions, understand systems, advocate for our child, and become more informed as parents.

We did not begin with every answer. Much of what we have learned has come through firsthand experience—navigating school meetings, services, sensory needs, communication, routines, challenges, progress, and the everyday moments that shape family life.

Along the way, we learned how important it is for parents and caregivers to educate themselves, speak up, ask questions, and become active participants in the support of their children.

SoftSoundsPress is part of that journey. It is a way for us to take what we are continuing to learn and turn it into information, encouragement, books, and practical resources that may help another family along the way.
